I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to inform you that they have sanctioned the grant of a superannuation allowance to Mr. Quin, Superintendent of Police at Hong Kong, on the condition that he combines with the duties of Health Officer the care of Medical Inspector of Emigrants under Ordinance No. 6 of 1867.

Reference to your Letter of 19th ult. relative to the grant of a Pension to Mr. Quin.

To this Letter, reference is made to your letter of 23 July 1865 and 11 July 1868.

I am to transmit to you herewith a superannuation allowance form, which I am to request may be filled in accordance with the usual practice; and that my Lords may be informed whether the services of Mr. Quin in St Kitts and Antigua were continuous, and of such a nature as to entitle him to a pension.
